5-MINUTES of Philosophy

BY: MIYINGO Ivan, MPhil, B. Pharm, MPS,

A part of you is fully aware, fully awake and fully connected to the truth.

This is what we call the higher self.

Your higher self is you, but at a higher level of awareness.

It is the version of you that never got lost in the dream, the version that sees the bigger picture.

It is always guiding you, always sending you signs, nudging you toward remembrance, just like it drove you to this blog.

Every time you have an intuitive knowing, an unexplainable pull toward something, a moment of deep peace or clarity, that is your higher self whispering to you, reminding you of who you are.

It does not speak through fear or force.

It speaks through inspiration, excitement, and inner knowing.

The more you trust it, the more clearly you will hear it.

The more you quiet the noise of fear, doubt, and overthinking, the more easily you will be guided.

Your higher self already knows the best, fastest, most effortless path for you.

All you have to do is listen.

You are not powerless and life doesn't just happen to you. You mustn't work, struggle, nor fight to get what you want.

Begging for what is already yours is an insult to mother nature.

You are not here to earn your desires, you are here to remember that they are already yours.

You are the dreamer of this dream, and the moment you decide something is yours, the universe MUST rearrange itself to make it so.

The only thing standing in the way is your own resistance, the doubts, the fears, the beliefs that tell you it’s not possible.

The greatest illusion is the belief that the external world is separate from you.

That the universe is an already-built system that you were randomly thrown into and forced to play by its rules.

That you are just one of billions, fighting for your share, struggling to carve out a place for yourself in a world that doesn’t care.

But that is the first and biggest lie. There is no outside world. Everything you see is your own creation.

Everything exists inside your awareness.

The people, the circumstances, the events are projections of your consciousness, reflections of your beliefs, mirrors showing you who you are.

Just like in a dream, where every person you meet is actually an extension of your own mind, every single thing you experience in this world is simply an extension of you.

There is no division. There is no separation.

You are not in the universe, you are the universe.

EXPLAIN PHILOSOPHY TO A 5-YEAR-OLD

Do Aliens exist?

Why do we dream?

Does reincarnation exist?

Why do fireflies glow at night?

Where do we go when we die?

What was there before the Big Bang?

What's the difference between fate and destiny?

Why do we bother with life if death is the end result?

Can cosmic constellations determine someone's fate?

Why do we spend more than 40% of our lifetime sleeping?

________________

You have always asked questions in a bid to understand the universe, how it works, and the meaning of life. That's what philosophy is all about.

  • You didn't choose your parents.
  • You didn't choose the year you were born.
  • You didn't choose the country or continent where you are/were born.
  • You didn't choose your gender, skin colour, tribe, language or vocal accent.

But your current friends, you chose all of them.

You have discarded some of your names and adopted others.

You choose how many children to bear and which partner to marry or get married to.

A plethora of events are completely out of your hands.

They seem to be controlled by the universe, Mother Nature, and divine intervention.

For example;

  • Fate is often associated with the past or final, unavoidable events such as death. It frequently carries a negative or somber connotation.

Some other events directly involve your active participation, with outcomes that are intimately dependent on the daily choices you make.

  • Destiny is usually forward-looking, positive, and related to a chosen purpose or destination. It refers to a potential future or life purpose that you actively work toward and fulfill through your own choices, skills, and free will.

Without a tincture of philosophy, you will traverse through life in cages, handcuffs, and blindfolds.

You will be trapped in a life-sentenced prison blanketed with darkness and an ambiguous conscience.

Your self-inflicted prison will be four-walled by the prejudices milked from common sense, conditioned beliefs, and conventional convictions made without the consent of your deliberate reason.

Philosophy will not give you a straight answer.

But it will catapult you into deep thinking and general understanding of the basic principles of the universe and meaning of life as we know it.

For example,

The Creator vs. Big Bang Theory battle.

A long-running debate about the origin of the universe that has lasted for generations.

There is no conclusive answer backed with unquestionable evidence from both sides, but both ends of the spectrum mold us into big intellectual think tanks.

For Those in a Hurry

Philosophy is the disciplined pursuit of wisdom through critical thinking, reason, and reflection.

It uses logic to analyze ideas rather than relying on unproven beliefs.

It explores fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, truth, morality, reality, and human purpose, shaping how we understand ourselves and the world.

Philosophy comes from two Greek words. They are philos (meaning "love") and sophia (meaning "wisdom"). Put together, the word literally means the "love of wisdom".
